First it is necessary to know what kind of gun model you want and with which system it should run (AEG, Gas, Spring).

Yeah it is important that we knowing your age to choose a weapon as good as we can.

I think the most players have M-Models (M4/M16) or G36-Models (G36C/G36K)
Where do you come from? From the US or somethink like that?
Maybe you are interested in M4s because your country soldiers use this guns...
but it is only an example...

I want to tell you, that you want to use a gun wich is used by the soldiers of your country, maybe

I do love the M4 or M14 G36 some are full metal frames what is better Gas or AEG (electric) whats allowed on the fields here in Germany?

electric guns, CO2, gas.....

above 0,5 joul you have only semi fire mod!

Hey Jonathan,

welcome to germany! When coming from the states, you will wonder about the regulations here in germany regarding Airsoft.

As Terra mentioned, your ASG may only fire semi if the energy is above 0,5 Joule. Additional, it needs an approval mark, a "F" in a hexagon. If this isn't on the gun, it is illegal and you may get in serious trouble with the german laws as these are very strict. Same happens, if the gun shoots fullauto.
Under 0,5 Joule, it doesn't need this marking. Many sellers place an "energy under 0,5 Joule" on this sort of guns, but this is optional. Fullauto is allowed.

So much for the legal aspects. The allowed energy for ASG's on fields in germany varies. Some places allow higher energies for sniper rifles only as you shoot on greater distances, some have simply one highest level. You will get informations on this on the field you are going to play...
Most ASG's over 0,5 Joule have a stock power around 1 Joule, this is about 100 meter per second or 330 fps with 0,20g BB's. By now, you can also buy guns, that have a higher stock energy.

Which type of system you want, depends on your personal preferences, every system has its advantages. For example, a spring operated gun doesn't have many mechanical parts so it is very reliable and can be operated under almost every condition. But (there is always a "but"  ^^) your rate of fire is very low so that you will get a bb shower while you can fire two or three shots only.

Most Airsoft guns are battery-driven or gaspowered (except sniper rifles where you can still find a lot of springers). Both are affected by weather conditions, mainly the temperature. Batteries loose some of their power, when it's very cold outside, so you need to change the battery more often. Gas powered markers are strongly affected by the temperature, this mainly results in a general loss of power ( there is "winter gas" available, but I'm not that into gaspowered Airsoftguns so I might be wrong). When speaking of gas powered ASG's, there are various versions, GBB (Gas BlowBack), NBB (Non BlowBack) and CO2.

In my opinion you should read some articles first, which deal with the different systems. Mr Google finds a lot of (english written) threads, which give you a good overview over the different systems (as I'm also new to the ASVZ, I'm not sure, if I may post some links, but the articles can be easily found).
After you decided, which system you want and post it here, you should get a lot of concrete recommendations for an Airsoftgun.

For some fun plinking in the back yard, a fullauto gun is a lot of fun, but for serious skirmishes you should buy an ASG over 0,5 Joule, even it only shoots semi, as most of the players play with this guns. The advantage of the bigger range values more than the higher rate of fire.

Sorry for not leaving a concrete recommendation, but as mentioned before, it is not easy as both of the common systems work very good and both have their advantages...

Regards and prost to Flensburg!  *plopp*  ;)
